CRANACHAN

Raspberry Oat Cream pudding, from the Celtic SAMHAIN festival

a small glass with 4 alternating layers of red raspberry and white cream and a final dollop of cream on top
Boozy Irish Cream with oats and fruit in a glass.

The oatmeal took several attempts to toast correctly, by burning unevenly. But other than that, it was quite simple. After that it was quite straightforward. Whip cream to almost stiff, add alchool and honey, whip again, add oatmeal; squeeze some raspberries. Place alternate layers of cream and whole raspberries covered in squeezed raspberries in a container. Chill.

Good thing to make early on, or in a gap while other stuff is on hob.

Note: Due to an oversight on my part I ended up using Brandy instead of Whiskey, and strawberry flavoured Agarve syrup instead of heather honey. I thought they would work, but it made a difference. You need the real ingredient.

Damages:

There was only the tray for toasting and teh bowl for whipping on the cream side. For the raspberry and coolie, a sieve and extra bowl were required. Nothing too mess though.

Result:

Don't know. Was edible, but the brandy and the agave made such a difference in a negative way. Also apparently too much in it for some people. And some people don't like Alchool in their food. Should have been easy but perhaps the worst result of the meal.
