Foamed Matcha with Higashi (dry sweets)
@Hokokuji temple, Kamakura (also known as the Bamboo temple)
The matcha was strong and green tasting; On its own, it could have been a bitter experience. But the sweets were sweet, made of pressed sugar, and the tea was extremely frothy, so it was a blend of flavours with a mix of interesting textures. And who couldn't love the act of sitting and sipping tea from bowls in the middle of a majestic bamboo garden.
