Blackberry Bircher

Blackberry Bircher overnight oats, star anise & pear compote, apple, roasted nuts.

(Apparently Bircher is derived from the original name for Museli, in which the recipe called for oats soaked in water for 12 hr (Wikipedia))

Nutty, fruity, creamy, sweet with just a hint of satisfying oatflakes. Pretty addictive even without the huge amount of fruit present. Is very similar to a good thick rice pudding, thought clearly with oats rather than rice. Not sure how healthy it is but I'm guessing it's better than a sausage sandwich, and justice satisfying. This is porridge for the wilderness elite, the kind of people living in the middle of the wood in a double glazed log cabin with central heating. Pricy but worth it.

wide bowl with 2 inch high cylinder of purple soaked oats , topped with pear chunks and cress like garnish. some whole blackberries and a fan of apple slices finishe it off, with syrup and icing sugar dusting to decorate the bowl.
Basically museli soaked for 12 hrs...
